The Division of Colorectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center recognizes and respects the relationships referring providers have with their patients. We are committed to providing prompt follow-up and open communication with our referring providers.

Medical records

If your patient had medical records you believe will be necessary at his/her consult visit, please fax them to our office at (212) 305-0267. This will ensure our physicians can review the records prior to the consult visit. Our providers will ensure you receive a follow up letter after your patient’s colorectal consult summarizing impression and treatment plan.

Hospital admissions and transfers

If you would like to make a hospital-to-hospital transfer for a current or new patient, please call our office at (212) 342-1155 to speak with the corresponding physician.

Additionally, The NewYork-Presbyterian Physician Access transfer Center will make arrangements to admit or transfer your patient to NewYork-Presbyterian 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To initiate a transfer to NewYork-Presbyterian, please call 1-800-NYP STAT.
