Supplemental ERAS Application

For the 2024 ERAS® cycle, our program will be participating in the supplemental ERAS application offered through the AAMC’s ERAS program. Applicants will be required to complete the MyERAS application, and participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional. The additional information will help our program learn more about applicants and help us better identify alignment with our program environment and mission.

Interviews

All interviews will be conducted virtually by a cohort of faculty and residents. We will also host informal pre-interview virtual social events to give you a chance to meet the residents and get a feel for the camaraderie that exists in our program. We want to get to know you as much as you want to get to know us! Offers for interviews will be sent via Thalamus on October 31st, 2023 @ 12pm.

We will be holding four separate virtual interview days 8am-2pm (EST):

  • Friday, November 17th, 2023 (Columbia Students Only)
  • Saturday November 18th, 2023
  • Saturday December 16th, 2023
  • Saturday January 6th, 2024

International Medical Graduates:

All graduates of international medical schools must have current certification by the Educational Committee for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). US experience is not necessary but desirable. There is no cut-off date for medical school graduation but within 1 year of application is preferred. An ECFMG certificate is needed for beginning residency. New York-Presbyterian Hospital will sponsor J1 and O visas only.

Second Looks

Applicants who interview with our program will be invited to join us in person for a “Second Look” event in February. Second look events will be scheduled AFTER all interview days have been completed and AFTER our program’s rank list has been submitted to the NRMP. The Second look event will be entirely optional and will have no impact on our rank list decisions, given that it will take place following submission of our rank list. The purpose is solely to provide applicants with as much information as they need to determine whether training at NYP/Columbia is the right choice for them.
