ASBrS Nipple Sparing Mastectomy Registry

Nipple Sparing Mastectomy (NSM) entails removing all breast tissue while sparing the overlying skin envelope including the nipple areola complex (NAC). This type of mastectomy combined with immediate reconstruction leads to a postoperative breast appearing nearly identical to a pre-operative breast.

Master regulator analysis to prioritize treatment of residual disease following neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer in patient-derived tumor xenografts

Determine whether master regulator-directed therapy will demonstrate a greater reduction of tumor growth in patient-derived xenografts from tumors resistant to neoadjuvant taxane therapy [i.e. paclitaxel or docetaxel +/- adriamycin/cytoxan] as compared to taxane (i.e. control).

A Multicenter “Ablate and Resect” Study of Novilase Interstitial Laser Therapy for the Ablation of Small Breast Cancers

The purpose of the research is to study and report the effects of Novilase breast therapy for small breast cancers. This is a multicenter feasibility study in which approximately 60 women with small breast cancers will undergo the ablation procedure prior to surgical excision of their breast cancers. The ablation procedure takes place in an outpatient setting, and is typically completed in 30-60 minutes.
