Our Approach and Expertise

The esophagus, shown in a barium swallow X-ray.The Esophageal Disorders Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia incorporates the specialized expertise of gastroenterologists, abdominal and thoracic surgeons, GI endoscopists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and nurse practitioners. Our collaborative group aims to advance the level of care for patients with esophageal cancer, achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux, and other esophageal disorders.

The clinicians in our multidisciplinary team pool their expertise and resources to ensure patients receive the most up-to-date care. These physicians are particularly focused on developing innovations in diagnostic, interventional, and surgical approaches that will minimize risks to the patient, facilitate faster recoveries, and produce favorable outcomes.
