Banner: WEBINAR: Hernia Repair: Does Gender Matter?

Includes Interactive Q&A

This webinar is designed to examine the impact of gender in the management of hernia repair. Experts including Yuri W. Novitsky, MD, Dina Podolsky, MD and Vahagn Nikolian, MD, will discuss postoperative outcomes and discuss the biologic variable of gender in managing hernia repair.&

Hernia symptoms in both men and women are similar; however, certain types of hernias are more predominant depending on gender. While femoral hernias are more common in women, men are more susceptible to inguinal hernias. We will review the biological variable of gender in hernia repair. Our goal is to help participants understand the data and determine a recommendation of hernia repair and the use of mesh in women of childbearing age.
