Program Overview

The Columbia University Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery Research Group is an active clinical and translational facility located at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Its team of Research Fellows pursues research on a variety of topics in both cardiac and thoracic surgery using animal models, human tissue and clinical data to improve methods and practice and, ultimately, patient care at Columbia and beyond.

The CTS Lab also plays a crucial role in heart and lung transplantation at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the top organ transplant centers in the United States.
