Venessa Smith-Wright is a board certified Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Colorectal Surgery who graduated from AdventHealth University. As a nurse, Venessa worked as an Operating Room Nurse at NYP/Cornell and NYP/Allen for 8 years. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a federally qualified health center caring for medically underserved communities in the Bronx. Venessa works closely with Dr. Pokala Ravi Kiran, and all the colorectal surgeons in the Division. She sees patients in collaboration with the Colorectal Attending Surgeons in the outpatient setting from their initial consult examination through their entire post-operative period. She educates and patients and their families with common concerns relating to colorectal disorders. Venessa has expertise in the evaluation and management of Pelvic Floor Disorders through specialized procedures such as Anorectal Manometry, Biofeedback, and Pelvic Floor Therapy through the Division of Colorectal Surgery’s Pelvic Floor Program.
