About Jarrod T Bogue, MD:
Dr. Jarrod T. Bogue is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves as an assistant program director of the plastic surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell-Columbia. Recognized as a Rising Star in the 2024 SuperDoctors New York listings, Dr. Bogue continues to make significant contributions to plastic surgery, dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes and fostering the growth of future surgical leaders. He is dedicated to caring for his patients and advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery through clinical practice, research and education.
Dr. Bogue graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester in 2010, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics with distinction in research. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree with distinction in research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2015. During his medical education, he was awarded a prestigious National Institutes of Health TL1 fellowship, which supports trainees pursuing careers in clinical and translational science.
Following medical school, Dr. Bogue matched into one of the top plastic surgery residency programs and completed the integrated six-year plastic surgery residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Cornell-Columbia, where he served as chief resident in his final year. His exceptional leadership and commitment to patient care were recognized with the Distinguished Housestaff Award from the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council in 2021. He then went on to further hone his skills in complex reconstructive surgery during a fellowship in microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Bogue's passion for global health has led him on surgical missions to Kathmandu, Nepal and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he collaborated with local surgeons through ReSurge International to improve surgical education and care.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Bogue is an active researcher. He leads a research group specializing in orthoplastic surgery, limb salvage, and sarcoma reconstruction. Thus far his research group has produced several publications in leading plastic surgery journals in addition to presentations at regional and national plastic surgery meetings. His research efforts demonstrate his commitment to advancing the field of orthoplastic surgery.
Dr. Bogue is passionate about mentoring the next generation of plastic surgeons, actively engaging with residents and medical students at Columbia University Medical Center. Known for his compassionate approach and technical proficiency, he specializes in microsurgery, orthoplastic surgery, breast reconstruction, trauma and cancer reconstruction.
