Getting to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center
A variety of transportation choices are available within New York City, however taxis are generally the most convenient and safest. Please consider whether luggage, etc., will make travel on public transportation too difficult. Also, please be aware that only yellow cabs may legally solicit customers with offers of transportation; use official taxi stands whenever possible, especially at airports.
By Car
The most direct way from most locations is to follow directions leading to the George Washington Bridge, then exit onto the Henry Hudson Parkway, and then onto Riverside Drive (south). From there, continue south and turn left onto 165th Street (the first left south of the bridge). Proceed one block and turn right onto Ft. Washington Avenue, then turn right into the Medical Center parking garage.
From upstate New York and New Jersey
After crossing the George Washington Bridge, follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway), and then to Riverside Drive.
From Riverdale and Westchester via the Saw Mill River Parkway
Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway at the Riverside Drive exit immediately past the George Washington Bridge.
From Westchester, Connecticut, and the East Side of Manhattan via the Major Deegan, Cross-Bronx Expressway, or Harlem River Drive
Approaching the George Washington Bridge, take the Henry Hudson Parkway exit; on the approach to the Hendry Hudson Parkway, stay to the left and follow signs to Riverside Drive.
From the West Side of Manhattan
Take the Henry Hudson Parkway to Exit 15-Riverside Drive South.
Public Transportation within New York City
Take the A, C, or #1* subway to 168th Street, or take the M2, M3, M4, M5, or M100 bus. For additional bus and subway information, call the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) at 718.330.1234. Buses require either Metrocards (which can be purchased at all subway stations) or exact change; bills are not accepted.
*Please note that, due to MTA repairs, the 1 train will not be stopping at 168th from January 2019 until early 2020.
