Desiree J. Darrisaw, NP
Ms. Desiree Darrisaw is a Bronx native who passionately pursues her life’s purpose through her nursing practice and service to the community. She is a proud alumnus of Hampton University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. There, she became a member of the Tau Beta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated (2010) as well as a member of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (2012). Two years after completing her undergraduate studies, Desiree began to advance her nursing practice and education. In 2017, she graduated from Binghamton University with a Master of Science in Nursing and is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Her focus includes primary care, community health, and program development. Her experience includes working as a registered medical surgical nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York as well as a Nurse Practitioner with New York City Health and Hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Desiree is pursuing her PhD in Nursing from Binghamton University. Her scholarly research is rooted in exploring the relationship between spirituality and resilience in individuals diagnosed with a form of chronic illness.
