What Are The Symptoms Of Thyroid Cancer?
Symptoms and signs of thyroid cancer may include:
- A nodule in the front of the neck
- Swollen lymph nodes in the neck
- Hoarseness or changes in voice
- Difficulty in swallowing or breathing
- Throat or neck pain, which may also extend to the ears
- Coughing that is not related to a cold
What Is A Thyroid Nodule?
A nodule is a lump on the thyroid. Thyroid nodules may not be visible, but they can be felt by touch or sensed when swallowing.
Keep in mind: thyroid nodules are common, and most nodules are NOT cancers, even though they may cause many of the other symptoms listed above.

Do Different Types Of Thyroid Cancers Have Different Symptoms?
The symptoms listed above can occur with any type of thyroid cancer. Because anaplastic thyroid cancer and thyroid lymphoma grow faster than other forms, they tend to cause larger and firmer lumps, greater difficulty swallowing (including a feeling like food or pills are getting “stuck” in the throat), more trouble breathing and more changes in voice.
