Members of the Section of Breast Surgery performed intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) procedure on the first patient at NYP/Columbia September 19, 2013. According to Sheldon M. Feldman, MD, FACS, "This is the culmination of a great collaborative effort and support from the NYP team over several years. This represents a major advance for our patients.
